I am tired all the time. I struggle to stay up until 8 at night and I don't want to get up at 5am when the alarm goes off. I have to figure this out. It just isn't normal. Anywho....so today I did the same weight/ab workout as Tues. I do that every Tues/Thurs and the ab workout on Mon/Wed.
I ran 3 miles to the Y, did the weight work out and then ran back. It was hot. I had some cloud cover for the first part. My legs were still tired, but not as bad. I really never feel good until like a mile or so into the run. The usual suspects were at the gym. My football guy had his girlfriend with him so that was funny to watch. The old guys were out on the levee, I know one of them will die one day from not having fluid in this heat. I will probably have to do mouth to mouth and vomit. I once had to do mouth to mouth on a drowned kid and he vomited up all kinds of crap. Not pleasant at all.
Music for the day: I don't remember much except Coldplay at the gym. I like Coldplay, but they aren't my favorite.
Thought for the day: How much I love Steve Czaban in the mornings on Fox Sports. Frank probably likes the fact that I love sports and can have decent conversations about them, but even he is astounded that I actually listen to sports radio nonstop on XM.
Funny for the day: My Darby and Wren all dressed up in LSU gear for dress up day at school. We know how much it pains these Mississippi people to have to look into the face of real football, babeeeee.
Turn that frown upside down.........I never liked that phrase, sounds to Mrs. Cleaver to me. Peace Out.

Wednesday, July 30 SO MUCH TO DO
I woke up this am to a slight tug in my knee and calf on my bad side. I am convinced this is from running on the treadmill yesterday. It felt like I was banging around the entire time. Today is going to be a weird day b/c Wren has an orthodontist appt at 2 which messes up my workout. For the am:
Side Plank up down for 20 seconds then do plant with holding arm over stretched 20 sec do each side for a total of three times. Do not stop in between
50 crunches with legs outstretched slightly bent at a 90 degree angle
100 bicycles crunches
10 second middle plank with right arm behind you, 10 second right arm at 3 o'clock do not stop in between
do same for left
20 second middle plank
Repeat this 3 times
8 minute ab workout: 45 seconds each, get the tape, too much to type
Ran 3.5 miles and then went to hour spin class, ran 3 or so after class.
Music for the day: Sean Kingston, Dash Rip Rock and Til Tuesday
Ran the last mile with the old guys on the levee. There was a cloud cover which helped quite a bit with the heat. My legs were/are DEAD. I think this is a combination of the speed work yesterday and the squats and lunges. I thought about friends today on the run. All my different running friends and their styles of running. I can pretty much adjust to all of them and not miss a beat. Funny thing........running. I also thought of Frank b/c I was so lonely on the first half. I sure miss running with humans. When I get lonely I play Til Tuesday or Cowboy Mouth and it makes me think of Frank.
I did find some very odd techno mix on my ipod that I think Frank snuck onto it. I hated it. I have also discovered a few Metallica songs which he knows makes my skin crawl. He is a metal head and me..........well not so much. And no, there was no sense of time. MC keeps up with that crap on Saturdays and keeps a log. Me...never.

Tuesday, July 29: The boring as hell workout
I forgot my ipod at work today so today's workout was musicless. I was in the mood for Flo Rida and it just did not happen. So here goes:
2 X 800 @ 3:14
2 X 600 @2.25
2 X 400 @ 1:32
2 X 200 @ :44
I was suppposed to do this two times, but that didn't happen. I started outside by doing a one mile warm up. I decided half way thru the mile that I was going to the treadmill. Those of you that know me know my total dislike for the treadmill, but I just didn't think I could get thru the workout in the heat. So I went inside and ran next to my dude that plays football at MC. We chat quite a bit in the gym for some reason. So chalk it up, I did an actual workout on the treadmill and you know what? It wasn't that bad. Actually, much better b/c I could keep my pace even.
I then went to my weight work out:
12 each side bends on the side bend bench thing (no idea of the real name of it, but it is good for back fat from drinking beer)
15 chest presses with 15 lbs, and then 15 upper presses (that is what I call it) with 15lbs
10 pull ups for the lats with 20lbs each side
20 tricep dips
back to the side bend thing 12 each side
20 tricep dips
15lb weights front arm lifts 12 times
20lb biceps one at a time for a total of 10 each side
20lb biceps like a barrel total of 10 each side
12 side bends again
20 tricep dips
15 shoulder presses standing up 15lbs
15 back something or other with 15 lbs
15 lbs with side bends 10 each side
15lbs neck thing, muscle that pokes out of your neck really no idea but I could show you
12 side bends
20lb tricep curls 15 times
20 lb bicep curls 10 times each side
20lb bicep pumps 10 times each side
15 push ups
100 sit ups on the ball
10 squats with ball on wall holding the last one for 20 seconds
10 walking lunges with 10 lb weights
repeat the above but do squats with ball with feet pointing out and do 20 lungs each side
Good God that looks like alot. Not much interesting to note other than the same boring as people at the gym. I wash my hands for 30 seconds after I lift those weights. You never know who was touching them. I saw the old guys coming in from the levee and felt like a pansy. I mean they are like 60 and running in the sun on the levee and I ran on the treadmill. Oh well, at least I am alive and kicking.

Monday, July 28
I had to go to lunch with my boss and my replacement today so I was not able to run until the afternoon. I left the office at 3:00 for a one hour, 7 mile run. It takes an hour because I have to stop for stop lights, fluid, etc. The run was pretty uneventful, but when I saw the fairgrounds thermometer said 105 degrees I almost fainted. Thank God it was cloudy. I have no idea of the pace b/c I don't really use a watch unless I am racing. I know that is something I should probably change, but since I work with numbers all day long I really don't want to obcess on them anymore.
I am hoping this fall I will break out the Garmin or a watch again and really pay attention to my pace in hopes of improving my running. Interesting note on this run is the Volvo place finally moved to its new location. This is good because the train tracks were really ruining their business. It also ruins my runs sometimes. I actually hadn't been on this route since the winter b/c I bike in the spring and summer so I run to the Y to spin class.
Song of the day was Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl . I used to think Rick was very hot and he was my first concert. So girls, I began this blog to keep you posted on my progress for Huntsville. I will make a concerted effort to put paces up b/c I know you are all very interested in them! I really smelled bad too when I was done. I am hoping fall comes soon so I can stop sweating!!!

I think about beer alot. I sometimes wonder if I am a drunk b/c some days all I want to do is go home and drink a beer. A nice cold beer with like water dripping down the side.
